We have just returned from a most magical trip into the Three Sisters Winter Wonderland. We co-instructed the Outdoor Environmental Studies course which involved leading seven students into the winter backcountry for 3.5 weeks. The course began with a week at Linfield for a Wilderness First Aid course and various seminars including cascade weather and nature writing and reflection. We then headed East to the old SkyLiners lodge where we learned ski skills and had some fun practicing tele turns on Bachelor. From there we headed into the Three Sisters Wilderness with our skis, packs and sleds. We ate fabulous food in below freezing temperatures, laughed and learned as we traveled, lived and thrived in the winter backcountry environment. Great group- great trip.
